How we began
We've been doing this for 40 years. We still love every stitch.
Drape & Dwell was born from something rare: a family with fabric in its blood. With over 40 years in the trade, our team brings together a lineage of skilled tailors and upholsterers who have spent their careers honing a craft that demands patience, precision, and a genuine love for what you do.
We started Drape & Dwell because we saw a gap in the market. Too many businesses in our industry were outsourcing their work — taking orders, adding a margin, and passing the job on to someone else. We do none of that. Every curtain, every blind, every upholstered piece is made by our own hands in our London workshop. That's not just a selling point — it's a point of pride.
We also believe that bespoke shouldn't be a luxury reserved for a few. By always starting with your budget, we make sure our service works for everyone. Some clients come to us wanting the finest designer fabrics money can buy. Others need a beautiful result within tighter means. We relish both equally — because good design is about resourcefulness, not just resources.
From the moment you reach out to us, you'll be looked after. We'll listen, we'll advise, and we'll keep you involved throughout — with mood boards, fabric options, video updates, and even the opportunity to visit us in the workshop and see your piece taking shape with your own eyes.
